As part of this year’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, individuals and organisations are being invited to lead the nation’s tribute to Her Majesty the Queen by lighting beacons at 9.45pm on 2 June.  More than 1,500 beacons will be lit throughout the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories, and one in each of the capital cities of Commonwealth countries, in recognition of the Queen’s long and selfless service.
The beacons will enable local communities, individuals and organisations to pay tribute as part of the official Platinum Jubilee weekend of celebrations from 2–5 June.

We are keen that as many in Norfolk take part as possible to create a visible impact to start the Jubilee Weekend in style, and in recognition of the close ties and fondness Her Majesty has for this County.

Those wishing to register to participate in the Beacons initiative, which can be a private or public occasion, are being asked to email details of the beacon location and whether it is a private or public no later than 20 May, to:  brunopeek@mac.com.

Once registered, you will receive updated information about the celebrations over the forthcoming months.
